Reflections on the Mission of God
The story of The Painted Door did not begin with the training of a leader or the gathering of a people or the launching of a Sunday service. No, the story of this Christian church, as with all others, began far earlier than that - before modern-day evangelicalism, before the Protestant Reformation, before a single person ever worshiped the resurrected Jesus. Our story predates Moses, Abraham, and even Adam, finding its origins before history in the mind of God. In fact, this narrative of mission, redemption and glory is not ours, but God's. We are not beginning a journey; we are entering one long underway.
